Televisa knocks out The Ultimate Fighter across Mexico
Televisa's Canal 5 is broadcasting free-to-air the second season of UFC's reality show The Ultimate Fighter Latin America across Mexico aiming to repeat the success it had with series one.
Kicking off yesterday (19 August) on the Televisa network, the show will see eight lightweight fighters and eight welterweight from various Latin American countries. The fighters will be split into two teams led by Kelvin Gastelum and Efraín Escudero. Over 12 weeks, the fighters will compete against each other until there are four left who will fight in a final show to win a contract with the UFC organisation.
The final, at the Arena de Monterrey venue on 21 November, will be part of a fighting event with the two team leaders along with fighters Matt Brown and Leandro Silva.
UFC is popular in Latin America, producing both content and its own channel, which enjoys strong distribution deals in some key markets including Mexico and Colombia.
