Televisa, Univision premiere youth-focused telenovela

The Univision Network is to premiere Un Camino Hacia el Destino (The Path to Destiny), featuring young Televisa stars Horacio Pancheri and Paulina Goto.

Set to air on 23 February, the soap opera is targeting young viewers with a traditional plot about love and music, destiny and finding happiness. Produced by Nathalie Lartilleux for Televisa, the telenovela also stars Lisette Morelos, René Strickler, Gustavo Rojo, Ana Patricia Rojo, Manuel Landeta, Patricia Reyes Spíndola, Harry Geithner, Rocío Banquells and Agustín Arana. Mexican singer and actress Paulina Goto, who plays a principal role, also sings the theme song which was composed by Mauricio L Arriaga and J Eduardo Murguía. In order to increase online awareness ahead of the premiere, Univision has put some sneak peek videos on its Uvideos platform, and fans can join the conversation on Twitter and Facebook through the hashtag #CaminoDestino. Televisa and Univision's partnership has already proven successful in targeting US Hispanic viewers. Its most recent collaboration, El Hotel de los Secretos, a local adaptation of Spain's Gran Hotel (Bambú Producciones, Atresmedia), hit three million viewers.
